The main ingredient: Bananas. I love this recipe, but my husband has a slight banana allergy, so we don’t often have this recipe in our house. We much prefer the tasty creamy goodness of my homemade Vanilla Ice Cream.
Place frozen banana slices in food processor and puree. Process until you have a banana ball. Be prepared to stop the processor every 30 seconds to scrap banana. Process until you have a smooth, ice cream-like consistency. Add 2 tablespoons peanut butter (or any nut butter) and 1 tablespoon cacao powder. Run processor until everything is blended.
If you don’t like the flavor of bananas, you won’t like this ice cream. I know it seems silly, but some people may think this tastes like dairy ice cream, and it doesn’t. It’s still tasty, but it’s made from cream. Enjoy right now or stick back in the freezer in a freezer safe container to enjoy later.
*Pureed frozen bananas are yummy!
*Add two teaspoons of vanilla extract for vanilla ice cream.
*This same process, but with strawberries is almost as yummy.
*Add some nuts after the processing is over and mix in. Banana pecan ice cream anyone?
