Homemade Peanut Butter

A classic, the peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Chewy peanut butter cookies.

Peanut butter is a longtime friend to most of us.

Homemade Peanut Butter

3 cups dry roasted, salted peanuts

Add 2.5 cups of nuts to your food processor (you will add the last .5 cup at the end to achieve crunchy PB, if you just want smooth, then all of your nuts now).

Process for approximately 7-12 minutes. Peanuts will form a sticky ball, it’s not done yet. Let the processor do the work.
I usually sweep my kitchen while it’s going, plus any other easy chore I can get done. It’s done when it’s smooth and creamy. Add the last .5 cup of peanuts (and salt if you need to), process for a few seconds. Viola. Done and done.

If you’d like to have flavored peanut butter, consider adding things like cinnamon, vanilla, or honey.

Do you eat peanut butter? Have you tried making it yourself?
